This is how your skates should fit:

Warning picture is kind of gross but seriously this is how your skates should fit. Skating is a sport, a recreational activity and your equipment needs to be worn properly to avoid injury!! If your skates are too big you will not only not be able to learn to skate properly, stop properly, and do basic beginner skater moves, but you put yourself at risk for twisting and breaking your ankle, etc. So take the time to message your skate shop to make sure you are getting the proper fit.
